Training: "Insertion of a Short Peripheral Cannula Under Ultrasound Guidance"

This training focuses on developing nurses' knowledge and skills in safe infusion and cannulation under ultrasound guidance, enhancing competencies through clinical simulations. Participants will gain practical knowledge and improve teamwork abilities within therapeutic teams. The training will be conducted in a hybrid format: 3 days online, 5 days in-person at JKU, totaling 58 teaching hours (20 hours of online lectures, 32 hours of on-site exercises at the Simulation Center, and a 6-hour OSCE exam), with 15 participants from foreign academic staff.

  1. 1.1. Participants of the IIEP may only be persons who simultaneously meet all of the following conditions:
    a) are representatives of teaching and/or research staff of foreign universities,
    b) hold a professional degree of Master of Nursing or an equivalent degree in another country,
    c) hold a current and valid nursing licence (the right to practise nursing),
    d) possess English language skills of at least B2 level,
    e) have independently and voluntarily declared their willingness to participate in the IIEP.

    1.2. In the event of more applications than places available in the IIEP “Insertion of a short peripheral cannula under ultrasound guidance”, the following preferential criteria shall apply:
    a) possession of a doctoral degree – 3 points,
    b) experience in conducting practical nursing education exceeding 3 years – 3 points,
    c) English language proficiency above B2 – 5 points,
    d) motivation and justification for participation in the IIEP – 0–10 points.

    1.3. The minimum number of participants of the IIEP is 10 and the maximum is 18, depending on the allocation of financial resources.

    1.4. Application submission deadlines and the planned number of participants will be provided in the recruitment announcement on the UJK Medical College subpages.
    Applications will be accepted via UJK’s electronic recruitment system.

    1.5. After the deadline indicated in item 7.4 has elapsed, a ranking list will be prepared; on its basis candidates with the highest number of points obtained on the basis of declared achievements will be invited to submit the documentation listed in item 7.6 and to present originals of documents for inspection no later than on the day of commencement of the in-person IIEP classes.

    1.6. Candidates qualified for admission to the IIEP shall submit, via the electronic recruitment system, scans of documents in order to confirm eligibility for the IIEP, including scans of documents confirming additional preferential achievements for the IIEP, within the deadline indicated in the electronic recruitment system:
    1. a signed application form (including the declaration of voluntary willingness to participate in the IIEP) – generated and printed from the Electronic Recruitment System;
    2. a certificate of employment in a teaching or research position at a foreign university;
    3. a diploma confirming completion of master’s studies in nursing (or equivalent);
    4. the licence/right to practise nursing;
    5. GDPR declarations and consent to data processing, signed recruitment regulations;
    6. a motivation letter in English;
    7. a CV showing especially the period of professional experience in practical training of nurses;
    8. a statement of English language proficiency at least B2, or an appropriate certificate confirming proficiency in this language;
    9. optionally – a diploma confirming the award of the doctoral degree in the field of medical and health sciences, natural sciences or exact sciences.
