This course is designed to advance the knowledge and skills of academic staff in diagnosing and treating spinal dysfunctions across various age groups. The program includes diagnostic techniques, case analysis, and practical therapeutic exercises, preparing participants to implement the acquired knowledge in professional physiotherapy practice and student teaching. Participants will learn to apply advanced diagnostic tools and therapeutic procedures with a focus on integrating research findings into clinical practice. The program involves 5 international academic staff, 8 international students, and 2 international doctoral students. The 5-day, on-site training at JKU includes 10 hours of theory and 25 hours of practical training.

  1. Participant characteristics and qualification criteria for IIEP: “The importance of physiological spinal extension – from birth to adulthood”

    1.1 Participants of the IIEP may only be persons who simultaneously meet all of the following conditions:
    a) have the status of a student of a foreign higher education and science institution (from at least the 2nd year of first-cycle studies), or a PhD candidate of a foreign higher education and science institution, or academic staff of foreign higher education institutions, in the fields: physiotherapy, rehabilitation, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy and other health sciences,
    b) possess English language skills at least at level B2,
    c) have independently and voluntarily declared their willingness to participate in the IIEP,
    d) have declared readiness for active participation in practical classes conducted using diagnostic systems (DIERS Formetric 4D, ultrasound, sEMG) and case work on clinical cases.

    1.2. In the event of more applications than places available in the IIEP “The importance of physiological spinal extension – from birth to adulthood”, the following preferential criteria shall apply:
    a) English language proficiency above B2 – 5 points,
    b) motivation and justification for participation in the IIEP, conformity of the candidate’s profile with the course topic – 0–10 points.

    1.3. The minimum number of participants of the IIEP is 10 (3 academic staff, 1 PhD candidate, 6 students) and the maximum is 25 (8 academic staff, 5 PhD candidates, 12 students), depending on the allocation of funds.

    1.4. Application submission deadlines and the planned number of participants will be provided in the recruitment announcement on the UJK Medical College subpages. Applications will be accepted via UJK’s electronic recruitment system.

    1.5. After the deadline indicated in item 9.4 has elapsed, a ranking list will be prepared; on its basis candidates with the highest number of points obtained on the basis of declared achievements will be invited to submit the documentation listed in item 9.6 and to present originals of documents for inspection no later than on the day of commencement of the in-person IIEP classes.

    1.6. Candidates qualified for admission shall submit, via the electronic recruitment system, scans of documents confirming eligibility for the IIEP, including documents confirming additional preferential achievements for the IIEP, within the deadline indicated in the electronic recruitment system:
    1. signed application form (including declaration of voluntary willingness to participate in the IIEP) – generated and printed from the Electronic Recruitment System;
    2. CV;
    3. motivation letter in English (minimum 500 words),
    4. a certificate of academic status (student, PhD candidate, academic staff),
    5. a statement of English language proficiency at least B2, or an appropriate certificate confirming proficiency in this language;
    6. GDPR declarations and consent to data processing, signed recruitment regulations.
